Steelhead Streamer (Cains River Series) Tied by Paul Ptalis
Tail: Two sections of a barred wood duck feather
Body: Dressed fairly heavily with very pale grey or cream chenille
Wing: Four golden badger neck hackles
Cheeks: Jungle cock
Collar: A few turns of a rich yellow saddle hackle with a few turns of a scarlet saddle hackle
Note: This dressing is an adaptation of Mr. C. Jim Pray, of Eureka, California, for steelhead
fishing and should be dressed on a heavy number one hook, very short. The fly
is especially successful on California’s Klamath
